Boat Use Policy

Jacksonville Rowing Club (JRC) strives to provide members access to equipment appropriate for their experience, skill level and weight.  To ensure members clearly understand what equipment is appropriate the following guidelines have been adopted.

• Novice rowers may not row a single until completion of the JRC learn to scull class.
• All rowers must be cleared by a coach for a particular boat, this applies to both singles and team boats.
• Team boats should be crewed appropriately for the weight class of the boat.
• When in doubt ask a coach.  Coaches have flexibility to determine appropriate boats for a given crew.
• Coaches will provide feedback on skill and experience levels required if a member is not ready for a desired boat.

The intent of this policy is to enable safe and efficient use of club equipment.
