Training for this week
This week some of the intervals reference “race pace”. This is the pace per 500m that you would row for a 1000m race. Remember that this pace is different on the erg than on the water, and also different depending on what type of boat you are rowing (i.e. 1x, 2x, 4+). Use the race pace that you currently have the ability to achieve, not your goal race pace that you plan on achieving at the end of the season. The best measure of your current race pace is a recent performance from a race. Of course, in a boat wind and water conditions may cause variations in your race pace, so adjust accordingly. If you do not have a speed coach installed on your boat, just use the training range intensities to monitor your training and/or vary the relative effort and stroke rating.
